Note Your Fabric’s Care Instructions

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

When purchasing fabric, remember to write down the fabric’s care instructions, which should be printed on the end of the bolt. Also note the fabric’s fiber content. Store this information with the fabric.

Easier Needle Threading

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Do you have a hard time threading a sewing needle?

Here a couple of tips that could make the task easier:

Cut the end of your thread at a 45-degree angle. The pointier tip will be easier to insert through the eye of your needle. Also, hold the eye of your needle against a light background when threading. The contrast of the dark needle against the light background will make the eye of your needle easier to see.
