11 Easy Charm Pack Quilt Patterns

And in case you're not familiar with a what a charm pack is, it's a bundle of about
forty squares of fabric, each measuring 5 inches by 5 inches. (There are also “mini
charm packs” available with squares that measure 2.5 by 2.5 inches. However, all of
the patterns on these pages are made with the traditional, full-size charm squares).
Also note that these fabric bundles may go by different names depending on the
manufacturer.

And of course, any time you use pre-cut fabric for a quilt, you're saving yourself
the time and energy it would take to the cut the fabric yourself. Plus, when you use
pre-cuts, you'll be assured that your fabric shapes have been cut accurately. Also,
by using pre-cut charm squares for your quilt project, you'll be able to sample a
variety of fabrics from a particular line before actually buying yardage. Plus,
because the fabrics are from the same line, they'll all coordinate beautifully.

Because of their larger size, charm pack squares will also be easier for a beginner
quilter to handle and sew. Plus, they'll be more forgiving if her seam allowances
aren't exactly a quarter of an inch. And if she leaves them as squares, she won't
have any bias edges to deal with, which can be tricky to sew.

And, of course, you can always cut your charm squares into smaller shapes for
more complex designs.
